Our body responds differently to different substances. But our body needs almost all the material we come across in day to day life. For a person to be said normal, his body should be fulfilling all the needs it has. Some of them are taken from the surrounding, and some are generated within the body for its consumption. Cholesterol is in the category of those which are generated within the body itself. There are many reasons for the Cholesterol to become very popular in the modern world. Most popular saying is that Cholesterol is very bad for us humans, and it can even kill us. Well if we be careful enough, there are ways available to get rid of unwanted problems caused and get the maximum use of Cholesterol without much of a trouble. We have the ability to select what to eat and best cookware or utilities which makes it always our responsibility.
Cholesterol is something that we cannot avoid totally. Our body needs Cholesterol mainly to build cell membranes, hormones and other necessary tissues. Our body produces about 1000mg of Cholesterol in the liver everyday. It is found that if we take just 300mg as dietary Cholesterol that would be sufficient to fulfill our daily demand for Cholesterol. The problems are caused by the excess intake of Cholesterol. Cholesterol, which is a very waxy substance in excess gets deposited in your blood veins leading to coronary heart disease, commonly known as heart attacks. The level of Cholesterol in your blood can mostly be controlled by the controlling the food you take. The higher the level of HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol in your body, the lower the probably you have to get a coronary attack. The higher the amount of LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol, you have a greater threat of a coronary heart disease. So it all depends on the food we eat; you are what you eat.
First of all we have to do something about the Cholesterol we already have in excess. Intake of Cholesterol-soluble material to our blood stream we can get rid of the Cholesterol we already have. This is where our best meal comes in to play. Oatmeal contains fibers which are capable of dissolving the LDL cholesterol, the one we don’t want. Having 1 ½ cup of oatmeal a day provides the soluble fibers required to lower your LDL Cholesterol level. The consumption of banana can also bring the same effect as from oatmeal. The next best weapon against Cholesterol is fish. Well, not just any fish, but fatty fish like sardine, tuna and mackerel is known to contain the fatty acids that are favorable for us, which fights against blood clotting caused due to Cholesterol. For people who already have heart disease, the consumption of fatty fish will prevent the danger of sudden deaths. But you should bake or grill the fish before everything to avoid all the unwanted fat. Last place will be given to all kinds of nuts. They contain a lot of calories so a handful of nuts will do it. Almond and walnut are the ideal because they possess the ability to reduce Cholesterol level to a vey high extent.
