Concerned about your heart health? Heart attacks are not fun, and what most people do not realize is that most damage done to the heart is pretty permanent. Here are the top 10 foods to stay away from if you want live better and longer.

10. Canned Soups

First rule, excessive sodium is the enemy of the heart. Canned soup is LOADED with sodium and preservatives that murder your heart. When you spike your sodium levels, your heart has to work much harder and this can end up thinning your blogg vessels.When you do this, your essentially wearing your heart out early, increasing your chance of heart attack by alot.

9. Doughnuts

Doughnuts are horrible for your heart because they are fried AND have a ton of white sugar. They also have so much saturated and trans fat, that one single doughnut will put you over the trans and saturated fat limit for the day. These types of fat significantly contribute to the risk of heart disease.

8. Store Bought Baked Goods

When you purchase baked goods from a store, your getting tons of corn syrup, trans fat, artificial flavors, and other assorted heart enemies that can be avoided y simply baking at home. Plus, many times these goods are not actually “baked”, they are fried to save time.

7. Hot Dogs

No big surprise here. Hot dogs are one of the worst foods you can eat, as they are the left over “junk” sitting on the floor of the pork grinders. Loaded with sodium, saturated fat, and who knows what . . . hot dogs are a big no no for heart health, and health in general.

6. Fast Food Burgers

Your standard fast-food burger not only has loads of calories, but only contains extreme amounts of pesticides, antobiotics, sugar, and sodium. Plus, most of the time the meat is unclean because it come from several different cows and is not kept fresh. A “quick burger” is also a fast way to heart disease.

5. White Pasta

White Pasta is a sespool of saturated and trans fat. You would get more nutritional value if you ate cardboard, than white pasta. Pasta is bad for your heart in many ways, including the bad carbohydtrates your sucking in, and the massive amounts of cholestroal spikes. Blood pressue is murdered by pasta. Also, a few years ago, Alfredo sauce was listed as the worst food of all time by the Discovery Channel.

4. Bacon

Bacon is completely loaded with ?sodium nitrates, saturated fats, tons of sodium, and really harmful preservatives. Plus, the amount of choloestral is insane. All the things that are bad for your heart, bacon has the motherload.

Some types of cookware will take much of the grease out, but bacon should still be avoided.

3. Potato Chips

Potato chips are one of the most common foods, and heart attack is the most common cause of death. Common does not mean okay. Chips have trans fat that will clog your arteries like crazy, severely increasing the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Don’t be common, be healthy.

2. French Fries

Want to know how much acrylamide and trans fats are in french fries? How about 300 times the amount that is allowed by the EPA in bottle of water. French fries from fast food places are 100 times worse that homemade french fires made in canola oil. A baked potato or sweet potato is a much better option though :)

1. Soda

Surprised?Besides the 10 teaspoons of sugar found in each and every can, soda has tons of unhealthy components such as artificial food colors and sulphites. Soda is consumed in mass by many people. Some people drink 5 sodas or more a day. Thinking diet soda? Think again. Diet soda is 10 times worse because it contains aspartame, which is an artificial sweetenter that has been linked to anxiety, despression, dizzines, heart disease, stroke, birth defects, fatigue, and brain tumors. Kids drink this stuff every day, and by the time they are old enough to get a drivers permit, they may have already done irrepairable damage to thier heart.

Why do you think heart disease is the number #1 killer in America? Most of the foods listed here (especially chips and soda) are STAPLES of the American diet. That is not a coincidence, it is a cold dead fact. If you were hanging from a cliff, you would hang on for dear life as your fingers bled from the sharp rock digging into your skin, just to stay alive. Right now, you don’t have to do that, you just have to put down the can of soda and bag of chips.

    Fresh herbs make many other foods heart-healthy when they replace salt fat and cholesterol. These flavor powerhouses along with nuts berries even coffee form a global approach to heart-wise eating.
